No, unfortunately this is not possible for this crowdfunding investment. The underlying processing agent is not connected to the verification procedure for exemption orders pursuant to section 44a of the German Income Tax Act (EStG). However, the German withholding tax on investment income that has been remitted can be claimed in your personal tax return.
Tax is automatically withheld from the investment income generated by your investment and the relevant information is regularly reported to the tax office by the paying agent. If a refund of German withholding tax on investment income is possible, for example because your saver’s tax allowance has not been fully utilised, this can be claimed through your personal tax return.
A tax certificate is issued for documentation purposes but is generally only required if specifically requested by the tax office.
