Açai is the superfood from the Brazilian rainforest. In 2016, Albana Rama founded The Rainforest Company with the goal of making these healthy berries available to a wide audience. Numerous products – including frozen purees, ice cream and ready-to-eat bowls – were developed in collaboration with #1 fitness influencer Pamela Reif. The açai berries are sourced directly from small Brazilian farmers, who collect the berries by hand and in a rainforest-friendly manner. Along with the Atlantic Rainforest Institution, the start-up supports projects that benefit the rainforest and its indigenous inhabitants.
