The ‘free-from’ market continues to grow year after year: More and more people see the need for healthy food without unnecessary additives. Genius focuses on gluten-free baked goods available in supermarkets. Chef Lucinda Bruce-Gardyne founded the British company in 2008 (she has meanwhile left the company) and developed the products out of a personal motivation: to be able to provide her son, who suffers from celiac disease, with high-quality, gluten-free bread. With its wide range of products for healthy nutrition and physical well-being, Genius has been the market leader in the UK and No. 2 in all of Europe for gluten-free baked goods in 2021.
Genius was Katjes Greenfood’s first majority investment.
