The free-from market continues to grow year after year as more and more consumers seek healthier food options without unnecessary additives. Genius focuses on gluten-free bakery products available in supermarkets.

The British company was founded in 2008 by chef Lucinda Bruce-Gardyne (who has since left the business). She was driven by a personal mission: to create high-quality gluten-free bread for her son, who has coeliac disease.

Today, with its broad portfolio of products supporting healthy eating and overall well-being, Genius is the market leader in the UK and the second-largest player in the European gluten-free bakery market.

Genius is Katjes Greenfood’s first majority investment.
